# RIP ASIA MARKET, LONG LIVE ASIA CAFE **A commemorative merch drop dedicated to North Austin’s premier Chinese grocery store and restaurant** *8650 Spicewood Springs Rd* *Austin, TX 78759* These are my parents, standing in front of what used to be Asia Market. ![[AsiaMarket_Full.jpg]] `"IN LOVING MEMORY" TEE` When they first moved to Austin in the 90s, it was rough trying to find Asian groceries. Then Asia Market opened, and it instantly became a staple in the Asian community as well as my mom's weekly routine. ![[AsiaMarket_Aisle.jpg]] ![[AsiaMarket_Full_Haitao.jpg]] At one point they opened a cafeteria in the back, and it was so popular that it turned into a restaurant next door called Asia Cafe. I had countless meals there, from family dinners on the weekend to special occasions in the private dining rooms.
